The Iraq Levies: By Brigadier J. Gilbert Browne - 1932.
More than 100 page book providing a short account of the work done by the Iraq Levies, from their
begining in 1915, to their final change over into the New Air Defence Force, in 1932. This book
includes two photos of Iraq Levies of which one (displayed on the left) is of the Assyrian Levies. The book also includes
a list of British and Indian Personnel in receipt of awards as well as Iraqi natives including
the Assyrians receiving awards.
Although the book is titled "The Iraq Levies", a large portion of the book describes the Assyrian Levies, the campaigns which they were involved in, names of the military camps in which they were stationed, names of Officers and Enlisted members who showed bravery and professionalism in their service, and includes a list of Assyrian Levies who received awards from the British as well as the Iraqi governments.
