Martyr Amir (Ashuraya) Rouel Melhim was born in 1969 at Arbil, Bet-Nahrain, today's Iraq.
He joined the Assyrian Democratic Movement as a freedom fighter in the spring uprising of
1991. He was a disciplined young man and an energetic nationalist.
Martyr Amir was shot and killed on 6/19/1992 in the city of AinKawa by enemies of the
Assyrian people. Three days after his body was put to rest, a peaceful demostration was
held in his honor. The peaceful demonstration was atteneded by many of the ADM freedom
fighters, other friendly political groups and a large number of residents of Arbil and
AinKawa.

Francis Yosef Shabo was born in 1951 in Mangesh, Dohuk province. He was a civil
engineer by profession, and was elected to the Kurdistan Parliment in May of 1992 on the
Assyrian Democratic Movement's slate for Assyrian representation.
France was assasinated on the morning of June 1, 1993 in front of his home in the city
of Dohuk within the United Nations Protected Zone of Northerin Iraq.
Francis leaves behnid a wife and four children.

Youkhana Esho Shlimon was born in 1947 a 38 year old business consultant
was one of 153 Assyrians who were summarily and arbitratily arrested and jailed
by the Iraqi government in mid August 1984.
On February 6, 1985 Youkhana was executed by hanging. His crime as well as the
crime of the other two martyers was simply the wish to preserve the Assyrian National
Identity, heritage and culture.

Yoseph Toma Zibari was born in 1953 an Engineer by profession.
Yoseph was executed along with the other two Assyrian martyers by hanging On February 6,
1985. The only crime he and the other two martyers committed was simply the wish to
preserve the Assyrian National Identity, heritage and culture.
